Male’ local market is probably the most photographed and painted place in the whole of Male. The place is as timeless and still has any picture or painting that has depicted it in the past. The painting “les luminescence”, captures this most beautifully. The aggressive painting style doesn’t allow the viewer to focus on any particular detail, but gives the place a sound, and a smell. It looks visually incompetent, but this gives the painting a feeling for the place and time, which I find is lacking in more realistic depictions. This painting is truly honest and that’s refreshing, because it doesn’t try to say more than the moment, captured in the painting
